Eat for Success

One of the simplest and most important ways parents can support their child’s martial arts practice is to make sure that their little martial artist has healthy snack options if he or she is hungry before class. The best foods for your child to eat before class are those that are low in sugar and high in protein. Rather than reaching for a sugary snack that would cause a fast energy spike and an equally fast energy drop, offer your child dried or fresh fruit, a handful of nuts, whole grain crackers, or string cheese. These foods are just as convenient as a snack high in sugar, but they will give your child the long-lasting energy he or she needs to succeed in a martial arts class.

Eliminating sugary snacks, as well as attending Family Classes, is something your whole family can do together to encourage your child’s martial arts journey. Give us a call at 978-762-0454 for additional healthy snack ideas or to schedule a free introductory lesson.
