We are excited to be joining the 2012
St. Jude Halloween Promotion.

This year marks the 21st year of the promotion. Since 1992, the Halloween Promotion has raised more than $59 million for the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. Your support and commitment help St. Jude treat children fighting cancer and other deadly diseases with pioneering research and exceptional care.

With your support we can make the 21st year the promotion’s most successful year to date.

“Pumpkins” will be available from Thursday September 20th through Wednesday October 31st for $1.00.  In exchange for your donation, each customer receives a personalized St. Jude branded pumpkin. The pumpkins will be hung as Halloween decorations in our Martial Arts Studio located on 20 Locust Street in Danvers MA.

69 pumpkins = platelet count
282 pumpkins = spinal tap {includes physician fee}
447 pumpkins = one day of oxygen
6,129 pumpkins = average charge for inpatient visit per day
1.8 million pumpkins = cost to run St. Jude for a day

About St. Jude
• St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital opened in 1962 and was founded by the late entertainer Danny Thomas. Its mission is to find cures for children with cancer and other deadly diseases through pioneering research and exceptional care.
• No family ever pays St. Jude for anything.
• In 1962, the survival rate for acute lymphoblastic leukemia {ALL},
the most common form of childhood cancer, was 4 percent. Today, the survival rate for this once deadly disease is 94 percent, thanks to research and treatment protocols developed at St. Jude.
• The daily operating cost for St. Jude is $1.7 million, which is primarily covered by public contributions.
• St. Jude has treated children from all 50 states and from around the world.
• On average, 7,800 active patients visit the hospital each year, most of whom are treated on an outpatient basis.
• St. Jude maintains 78 inpatient beds and treats upwards of 260 patients each day.
• St. Jude is the first and only pediatric cancer center to be designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute.
