Wing Chun is a Chinese Martial Art that began hundreds of years ago. It was first developed as a self-defense system for women but has become popular among both men and women because of its effectiveness and emphasis on technique over size and strength.

Benefits: Flexibility – Stretching is a big part of Wing Chun training. You need lots of flexibility to perform Wing Chun properly. Wing Chun students stretch their bodies before and after every class. Fat Burning – Wing Chun is excellent for fat burning and loosing weight. The muscles you will build in your legs and upper body speed up your resting metabolism and the punching and kicking drills you perform burn lots of calories. Relaxation – Wing Chun supports a mind – body connection. Meditation is a key aspect of Wing Chen training. Wing Chun Masters teach their students how to calm their breathing and clear their mind, putting students in a relaxed state that gives them focus.

Endicott Park Day ~ Kick-a-thon for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Saturday June 28th at 12:15 p.m.

“We’ve been volunteering for St. Jude for 13 years now & we are thankful to the community for supporting our Martial Arts for St. Jude event.”

“Our studio focuses on teaching children empathy by doing community service and at the same time we also were able to teach our supporters about the great work conducted daily at St. Jude. The hospital is truly committed to the mission of finding cures and saving children.”

United Martial Arts Center has raised $50,334.40 since it began the Martial Arts for St. Jude program in 2000. Sifu Rita Rose Pasquale was recently invited to participate in St. Jude’s “Volunteer Appreciation Day” in Memphis  Tennessee, where she spent the day touring the hospital and meeting with over 200 volunteers from around the country. The trip has inspired Sifu Rita to take on a new mission for St. Jude ” Our studio will now be fundraising all year long and what we studio raised in 12 years – lets try to do it in one with the community.”
